A rare R-7 pattern cent, struck in a nickel alloy, that actually seems even rarer than that rating might suggest as we can locate no auction appearances for this issue. For the sake of comparison, Heritage recently sold a similar J-1767A (struck in pure nickel) in a PCGS PR-64 holder for a staggering $11,500.00! This blows away the suggested value in the most recent Pattern book. The populations and rarity for these two issues appear to be identical. The piece is whiter and brighter than it appears in the photos, while a small spot of rust colored corrosion on the reverse rim at 3 o'clock may limit a higher grade.

2001 Kentucky statehood quarter with metallurgy errors. As shown,diagonal lines across the entire reverse field and included down into the recessed design relief of the horse's broadside,the house and background.The obverse has the same markings but a bit lighter. These lines have taken away mintage luster giving it more of a matte luster. I have shown a mint perfect quarter in the next photo for comparison.The diagonal lines on obverse and reverse are precisely opposite angle to each other so if you could open the coin up like a book,the lines would form a V,but they are the exact same slant which is about a 30 degree slant.This coin is not certified and I would call it AU-55 as it does have tiny contact marks.

I am not an expert at grading coins but I do have over 40 years experience in collecting them:) I use Yeoman's Red Book to grade my coins. With that said I grade these coins as Good thru Fine.
