A broadstrike occurs when a coin is struck outside of its retaining collar. This coin appears to have seen light circulation. Although the luster is decent, it lacks the crisp brilliance of an UNC coin. Contact marks are evident on the surfaces.

This is a great type set of error coins featuring the 2006 South Dakota state quarter. This collection includes a 2006D PCGS MS63 obverse clad layer missing. It has a nice, bright red obverse surface. This coin lost its obverse clad layer before it was struck. There is a very rare 2006P off-center in BU condition. Off-center quarters after about 2002 are extremely rare due to the introduction of the Schuler presses which greatly reduce this type of error. Also, there is a 2006P broadstrike in BU condition. A broadstrike occurs when a coin is struck outside of its retaining collar. The last coin is a 2006D elliptical clip. It has a duller luster than the other 3 probably due to light circulation. Major state quarter errors are getting more difficult to locate.
