For sale is a Jamestown Landing Pocahantis So Called Dollar medal. c.1907. Approximately 1 3/8" in diameter and 18.8 grams. It looks to be silver which is considered very scarce with 251-500 pieces known. I have included the weight so you can determine which one it is. They also made a siver plated bronze which is scarce. It's purpose was to commemorate the 300th anniversary of "first permanent settlement of ... North America by English speaking people" and "to illustrate history, inculate patriotism and show the value of education." Official medals were struck in Mint Exhibit on grounds of the Jamestown Tercentennial Exposition. It went on from April 26 - November 30, 1907. This medal was struck and is dated May 13, 1907.

beautiful and rare (listed as R-5) HK-414 California The Expo State So Called Dollar. This SCD is from the 1915 California Panama Pacific Exposition. It is graded and encapsulated by NGC as AU58; just missed mint state. Much of the gilt is still present but there is very minor wear on the device's high points which account for the grade. This SCD has a rendition of the California State Seal with Minerva and a California Grizzly on the obverse, and a ship on the reverse. A very attractive SCD for the grade.
