![]() | AUTHENTIC PR 1849 CAL.GOLD 1/2 DOLLARS-EAR RINGS-MINT! |
offer US $199.98
Being offered for sale is two (2)fractual exceptional, authentic, Californian produced ½ gold dollars dated "1849" located under a profile of an Indian chief in a head dress! Everyone's heard of the famous & huge California gold rush that stated in 1849 (the gold diggers were called "49'ers") and the impact it had on California's history and just as much on the country as a whole. This pair of ½ gold California minted dollars has on the reverse, "CALFORNIA GOLD"; in the center behind the post you can see the partial "½", an image of a bear on all fours-which as most know is part of the state seal. These mint ½ gold dollars has at sometime in the past been convertered into a pair of quality pierced ear rings. Very nice quality ear rings! But for those of you that want them as gold coins, I'm sure that these great rare ear rings could be easily and safely converted back into a coin by a jeweler if need be and the post's removal shouldn't damage the coin at all as well as not being very costly either. Both faces of the Indian chiefs in profile are in exceptional shape condition with sharp details and with the dates especially well defined! Each coin measure about 11.5mm and together they weigh (with posts, but not the screws) 1.3 grams!
